What You Need:
Leaves
Paper (white or colored)
Colored Pencils
⬇ Optional
Glue
Scissors
Small Sticks

Go on a scavenger hunt outside so your learner can pick out their own materials!
What to do:
Place the leaf under the paper, vein side up
Use the colored pencils at an angle to lightly rub back and forth over the leaf

Note: This can be the end of the activity, depending on your learners interest or if access to materials is limited. Hang up and enjoy the leaf rubbings!
Or continue on:
Cut around the leaf shading, if necessary, to remove excess paper
Squeeze glue on the edges of the paper as shown, then place sticks to create a frame

You’ve completed your framed leaf art!
Tie a string around the top stick to hang it, use a magnet to stick it to your fridge, or simply lean it up on the mantle

Remember to allow for creativity to blossom. Try shading multiple leaves in one picture, using different colored pencils, and promoting ultimate freedom with the design!
